FARIDA WAGDI, 30 UNDER 30

November 30, 2024

Farida Wagdi, Senior Communication Executive, Havas Red ME #30under30

I was a curious child who always asked why

I was not the type to follow rules just because they existed

I am passionate about innovation and pushing boundaries personally and professionally

I am not someone who waits for opportunities, I create them

I shall be someone who leaves a lasting impact on others

I shall not be afraid to take the first step and try something new

I like it when ideas come together in unexpected ways

I dislike it when people say “we’ve always done it this way”

My biggest ambition is to make a meaningful mark, and have fun doing it

My biggest worry is losing sight of the things that matter

I am most proud of making my parents proud

I am a bit ashamed that I didn’t always push myself to take risks earlier in my career

Looking back, probably I should have trusted my instincts more

Looking back, probably I should not have overthought things that weren’t that complicated

It all fell apart when I didn’t prioritize my mental health

Things made sense when I embraced uncertainty as part of growth

Eventually things will fall into place when I trust the process and leave the rest to take its course

Eventually things will not be as challenging as they seem in the moment

Someone once advised me that weaknesses don’t matter because you will always be careful and work to turn them to strengths, whereas strengths can lead to errors if you become too confident in them.

I once advised someone that we’re in PR not ER

If I had a superpower it would be time manipulation, to slow down and savor each moment

My superpower in real life is watching every possible tv show series there is to exist

The word I use most is “Ugh”

The word I dislike most is “Routine” – I like to change it up, we’re still young!

This too shall pass because everything is temporary, even the difficult moments

My most treasured passion is helping people and helping people that aren’t able to help themselves

People should be more compassionate and understanding towards each other

People should be less stubborn, life is short

I wish to thank my family for the support and all the opportunities they have provided, my mentors for constantly pushing me to be a better version of myself and everyone who has challenged me, because they’ve helped me grow.
